Pastor Emeritus

Pastor Gary Holland has dedicated over 50 years to faithful service in the gospel ministry. A native of Thomasville, Georgia, he married his wife, Susan, in 1974, beginning a lifelong partnership in ministry. Pastor Holland graduated from Tennessee Temple College in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1977 and was ordained into the pastorate in 1979.

After a brief tenure as Pastor of Hill Top Baptist Church in Cairo, Georgia, in 1979, Pastor Holland answered the call to serve as Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Monticello, Florida, in 1980. His ministry journey took a significant turn in 1987 when he founded Victory Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA. Starting in a small house on Crawford Street, the church grew and in 1988 moved into the former Rose City Christian School property, where it continues to thrive today.

For 37 years, Pastor Holland faithfully served as the pastor of Victory Baptist Church, shepherding the congregation through seasons of growth, challenges, and transformation. His commitment to biblical teaching, personal discipleship, and community outreach has left an indelible impact on both the church and the surrounding area. In January 2025, after decades of pastoral leadership, Pastor Holland transitioned to Pastor Emeritus, honoring his enduring legacy of service.
Throughout his ministry, Pastor Holland has remained devoted to preaching the gospel, equipping believers, and glorifying God through every facet of his life and work. His dedication to the Lord, to his family, and to his church has been a testament to his faith and his calling.
